Behind the scenes the uniqueness of Making Ugly lies in the manner it was produced. From the initial stages of development, the producers faced the challenge of realising Andrew Niblo's vision and securing the necessary cast, crew, equipment and locations usually seen in mid-budget films with extremely limited funds. Through ingenious strategies and sheer determination, Mara Adina and Dara Carroll completed Making Ugly on the incredibly low budget of £7,000.

Shot on an ultra-low budget, THE TAQWACORES is independent film-making at its very best. Yusef (Bobby Naderi) a first-generation Pakistani engineering student, moves off-campus with a group of Muslim punks in Buffalo, New York. His new “unorthodox” housemates soon introduce him to Taqwacore - a hardcore, Muslim punk rock scene that only exists on the West Coast.

As the seasons change, Taqwacore influences the house more and more. The living room becomes a mosque during the day, while it continues to host punk parties at night. Ultimately, Taqwacore influences Yusef too, as he begins to challenge his own faith and ideologies.

THE TAQWACORES deals with the complexities of being young and Muslim in modern-day America and smells achingly cool of teen spirit.

The Lord of the Rings Middle-earth Midnight Madness

Fans came out for the "Middle-earth Midnight Madness," count down celebration - in anticipation of the magic moment when they could finally own Warner Home Video's release of Peter Jackson's visual masterpieces on Blu-ray in a 15-disc stunning collection entitled The Lord of the Rings™ The Motion Picture Trilogy: Extended Edition, out June 28.

Fans from all over the country were dressed as their favorite Middle-earth characters - The Aragorn, Frodo, Gandalf and more -- as they met movie cast members John Noble ("Denethor") and Sala Baker ("Sauron") -- and took home exciting prizes, including a Grand Prize VIP "Tour of Middle-earth" -- an all-expense-paid trip to New Zealand (Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown), courtesy of Air New Zealand and Weta Workshop.
