The Establishing Shot: THE WOMAN POSTER

When lawyer and proud family man Chris Cleek (Bridgers) stumbles across a wild, feral woman (McIntosh) bathing in a woodland stream near his isolated country home, he immediately makes a decision that will dramatically change both their lives.

Chris captures the woman and chains her up in the fruit cellar below his house, intending to tame and civilize her. To assist him, he enlists the help of his long-suffering wife Belle (Bettis), their two teenage children, Peggy and Brian, and even their youngest daughter, Darlin’. But when the task at hand proves to be more difficult than first imagined, the Cleek family’s fascination and well-intentioned compassion quickly turns to abhorrence and sadistic cruelty. Now, the animal in everyone is about to be revealed, along with one or two of Chris’ other little secrets.

“Insanely brutal… [and] truly disturbing” (Dread Central), The Woman takes viewers on a shocking and emotional rollercoaster ride full of psychological twists and turns that build to a haunting and unforgettable climax.

Described by the Hollywood Reporter as being “like an especially perverse Lars Von Trier outing” and by Variety as “an exercise in extreme horror”, The Woman earlier this year proved itself to be one of the most controversial films ever to be screened at the Sundance Film Festival, thanks to its realistic and unflinching depiction of the psychological and physical brutality visited by what appears to be a normal American family upon a seemingly disadvantaged and helpless woman.

Directed by Lucky McKee (The Woods; Masters Of Horror; May) and co-written by award winning horror novelist Jack Ketchum (Red; The Girl Next Door; The Lost), the film stars Angela Bettis (Toolbox Murders; Carrie; May), Sean Bridgers (Deadwood) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Burke And Hare; Exam; Land Of The Lost) in a savage and harrowing film examining the darkness of human nature.

The Establishing Shot: FIRST NIGHT POSTER

Adam is a rich industrialist, who aspires to a more cultured world. Spurred on by playful jibes that he’s little more than a city suit living the capitalist’s dream, this frustrated amateur opera singer decides to throw an opera in his lavish country retreat. Once his friends see him belting out the notes, he feels sure it will spell the end to their shallow taunts. In fact, it might even help him win the hand of a female conductor he’s been pursuing whom – it just so happens – is the first to be recruited for his showpiece. Starring classical crossover star Sarah Brightman alongside Richard E Grant, First Night is set to hit cinemas this autumn.

Fusing the stately grandeur of Gosford Park with the magical music of Amadeus, First Night is a unique story of love’s fluctuating fortunes set against a backdrop of visual and vocal beauty. As the cast, the drama, and the music carefully walk a tightrope between humour and pathos a timeless romantic comedy unfolds.

TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY - Poster

Set in the 1970s, TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY finds George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage. Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects - all experienced, urbane, successful agents - but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment.

The screenplay is by Peter Straughan and Bridget O’Connor and the film, which was shot in London, Budapest and Istanbul is produced by Working Title’s co-chairmen Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and Robyn Slovo.
