YOU INSTEAD is a free-wheeling, rock ‘n’ roll romantic comedy set against an unforgettable lost weekend at a music festival, filled with lust, mud, betrayal, portaloos and a hundred thousand people partying to the greatest music in the world.

Luke Treadaway (Brothers of the Head, Clash of the Titans) stars as strutting indie star Adam, one half of globally successful duo The Make. Arriving at the T in the Park music festival for his latest gig Adam finds himself accidentally handcuffed to Morello, played by Natalia Tena (Mrs. Henderson Presents, Harry Potter), lead singer for all girl punk band The Dirty Pink’s . With no key in sight the feuding pair have to get through the weekend as best they can delivering not one but two performances whilst having to placate a jealous girlfriend, an angry boyfriend and a lunatic manager. This is one weekend they will never forget.

The Establishing Shot: The 55th BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL LAUNCH

On 7 September 2011, the programme for The 55th BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with American Express, was launched to an audience of invited guests at London's Odeon Leicester Square. Sandra Hebron revealed programme highlights, and a number of filmmakers were in attendance to talk about their films, including producer Andrew Eaton and writer Peter Morgan (360), director Terence Davies (The Deep Blue Sea), as well as directors Carol Morley (Dreams Of A Life) and Dexter Fletcher (Wild Bill), and actor Eddie Marsan (Junkhearts).

The Establishing Shot: YOU INSTEAD LONDON LAUNCH PARTY VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

With just two days until it’s UK release, YOU INSTEAD had its London Launch party last night with a VIP screening at Camden Odeon followed by an exclusive afterparty at the famous Camden Barfly.

The film’s stars were in attendance and the two leads took to the stage to entertain the guests with leading man Luke Treadaway performing the film’s title song and Natalia Tena’s band Molotov Jukebox playing a exhilarating set which had revelers dancing the night away!

The cast and crew were also joined by winners of the You Instead new band search in association with Contact Music and Gibson. The chosen band, The Great Gatsby, won the chance to open for the stars and were presented with a Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitar.

Shot guerrilla-style, over five days during T in the Park in the summer of 2010, YOU INSTEAD is a free-wheeling rock’n’roll love story set against the raucous magnificence and unforgettable sounds of Scotland’s leading music festival.

The film features a charismatic performance from Luke Treadaway as strutting indie star Adam. Arriving at T in the Park for his gig, Adam is handcuffed to punky girl-band leader Morello. Initial frustration gives away to grudging acceptance and then the stirring of genuine feelings over the next 24 hours of the festival.
