The Inbetweeners have the biggest opening weekend for any live action comedy

The film takes over £20million in opening week - a record for both British and American films. Current box office is £27,715,177

Entertainment Film Distributors is delighted to announce that The Inbetweeners Movie has achieved the number one opening week of all time for a live action comedy. This is a record for a film from any country, including America. The Inbetweeners Movie broke the record for biggest live action comedy with an extraordinary £20,168,118 in its opening week and has continued its success over the weekend. The current box office tally is a phenomenal £27,715,177.

The top spot was previously held by The Hangover Part II with £17,176,908 followed by Hancock on £13,095,568. Other titles in the top ten include Meet The Fockers with £10,893,318 and 2011’s previous title holder Bridesmaids with £5,909,742.
